前言
岭南画派是二十世纪初期随着民主革命思潮的勃兴崛起于中国现代画坛的中国画流派。创始人高剑父、陈树人、高奇峰受到明治维新以来日本美术近代化运动的启发,高举“政治革命”与“艺术革命”的大旗,锐意改革中国画。虽然他们的作品在今天看来尚处于研究及实验阶段,但他们尝试以调和中西画法的写实主义语言,反映正在发生急剧变化的社会生活和现实人生主题的实验精神,对中国美术的现代化进程,产生了广泛深远的影响。
中华人民共和国成立后,新的历史条件给予秉承“笔墨当随时代”理念的岭南画派艺术家更为广阔的艺术天地。关山月、黎雄才等艺术家继承了“二高一陈”的艺术革新精神,将画笔与时代变迁、现实生活紧密联系起来,创作出一系列反映社会主义建设新成就的优秀作品。比如关山月到抚顺露天煤矿体验生活后创作的《煤都》,黎雄才以32米的长卷再现武汉三镇军民修筑抗洪堤坝的《武汉防汛图卷》等,这些都是前人从未表现过的内容。他们在描绘祖国大地沧桑巨变的同时,进一步拓宽了中国画现实题材的表现手法,笔墨语言也随着题材的创新而不断调整。可以说,他们无论在审美意识,还是在艺术成就上都将岭南画派表现时代精神的理念提升至一个新的高度。
为了弘扬岭南画派“关怀现实、服务人民”的崇高精神,坚定文化自信,我们策划本次展览,通过多位岭南画派艺术家的原作以及相关文献,展示他们在新中国时期的创作面貌,呈现在当时的历史情境下,他们创作思想的变化以及实践路径的尝试,希望对当今中国画的创作与革新有所启迪。
Forword
The Lingnan School of Painting that is a modern branch of Chinese painting system sprang up with the rising of the thoughts of democratic revolution in the early 20th century. The founders, Gao Jianfu, Chen Shuren and Gao Qifeng who were enlightened by the modernization movement of Japanese art after the Meiji Restoration, held high the banner of "political revolution" and "artistic revolution" and reformed Chinese painting with keen determination. Although their works are considered to be still in the researching and experimental stage today, their experimental spirit which they attempted to combine traditional Chinese painting and Western realistic methods to reflect the social life with huge change and the themes of real life has had a profound influence on the modernization process of Chinese art.
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, artists of the Lingnan School with the concept of "Chinese painting goes with the times" have had the broader artistic world in the new historical stage. Artists such as Guan Shanyue, Li Xiongcai and so on created a series of excellent works reflecting the new achievements of socialist construction by inheriting the artistic innovation of forerunners, closely linking paintings to the changes of the times and real life.
